Garvey Presley, III
Chief Executive Officer/Founder

Garvey Presley III is the CEO and Founder of Open Arms Treatment Center. Since founding Open Arms, Garvey has overseen operations and strategic planning which has led to an increase in company growth averaging 23 percent annually. Garvey began his management career as a supervisor at UPS in 1999 and since then, has managed hundreds of individuals at several Fortune 500 companies. He graduated from NC Agricultural and Technical State University in 2001 with a degree in Electronics and Computer Technology and is currently working on his MBA with a concentration in Entrepreneurship at LSUS.

Najah Presley
Director-Co Founder, Clinical Director

Najah Presley is the Co Founder and Clinical Director at Open Arms Treatment Center. As Co Founder and Clinical Director, she is responsible for assisting with day to day operations and strategic planning to improve the quality of care for Mental Health and Substance Abuse Treatment services provided by clinical staff. Before this role Najah worked as a Therapeutic Triage Specialist at Moses Cone Behavioral Health Hospital for 8 years where she provided clinical services to include screening patients experiencing life threatening debilitating mental illness and substance use addiction’s as well as being responsible for coordinating and making clinical recommendations for appropriate treatment and care.

Najah’s role was vital working with the hospital interdisciplinary team of professionals including Emergency Room Physicians, Psychiatrist, and Nurse’s. Najah was acknowledged and recognized via patient satisfaction survey, management, and peer review’s on multiple occasions for her high level of patience and clinical skill when working with patient’s and professional colleagues.

Najah holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Mental Health Clinical/Agency Counseling from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Najah is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and is currently preparing to take her National Counselors Exam in 2018, in preparation for becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor. Najah has received extensive training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Najah aspires to become the best therapist she can become by promoting a safe environment where healing, love, and strength can be nurtured to improve the quality of one’s life.

Najah enjoys traveling, shopping, reading, going to the beach, and spending quality time with her family, friends, and Golden Retriever in her spare time.

Barbara P. Sherry, M.S.W., Q.M.S.

Director, Quality Assurance, Management & Development

Executive Administrator

Ms. Sherry comes to us from New Jersey. She retired from the Port Authority of NY & NJ after 33 years of service. She has proudly worked in Social Services for nearly 40 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Early Childhood Development from New Jersey City University and her Masters in Social Work from Rutgers University where she graduated with honors. Although, her first love is children and animals, Ms. Sherry has switched gears and excels at being the Quality Management Specialist. Barbara has been with Open Arms Treatment Center since our doors opened, and has helped with the continued growth of the company. 

Brittany S. Hargrove
MSW, CSW, LCSW, LCAS

CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

Brittany S. Hargrove, Clinical Director with Open Arms Treatment Center, oversees all clinical services with a focus on ensuring quality of care. Brittany obtained her BSW from UNC Greensboro and MSW from UNC Greensboro and NC A&T’s joint Master’s pf Social Work Program. Brittany has been practicing social work for 8 years at various service levels. Brittany’s training and experience encompasses assessment an eclectic, clinical intervention, (CBT, MI, D8I). treatment authorization, agency operations, and evaluation of treatment outcomes. Brittany also provides clinical supervision for licensure. Brittany strives to plant seeds of hope and positive change in individuals and families to aide in the evolution of society.

Sydney Crutchfield Bullin

Qualified Professional

Sydney Bullins, MA, LPCA, QP currently works as a Qualified Professional and Outpatient Therapist for Open Arms Treatment Center providing Substance Abuse Intensive Outpatient group services and individual therapy. Through her educational experiences, Sydney has obtained a Master’s in Professional Counseling and a Master’s in Human Services: Marriage & Family Therapy, both from Liberty University. Sydney has also obtained a Bachelor in Birth-Kindergarten Education from Catawba College and an Associates in Early Childhood Education from Davidson County Community College. She has received high honors throughout her education to include being inducted into Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Sigma Lambda Honorary Societies, and graduating Summa Cum Laude. Through her past professional experiences, Sydney has served the adult and adolescent Mental Health and Substance Abuse populations in a variety of roles to include SAIOP, Intensive In-Home, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation. Sydney spends her free time enjoying life with her fiancé and three children and serving others.

Jena Bitticks-Alston

Qualified Professional LRT

Jena is the Office Coordinator and Qualified  Professional at Open Arms Treatment  Center and has been with Open Arms for over 2 years. During that time, she has facilitated the SAIOP group sessions and supports and manages the company’s day-to-day operations. Jena holds a Bachelor of Science in Park and Recreation Management from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. In her spare time, the she enjoys spending time with family, friends and engaging in any outside activity.

Deena Livington

Deena is Qualified Mental Health Professional at Open Arms Treatment Center. She holds certifications in the following NCI part A & B, Person Centered Planning, CPR First Aide and HIPPA, Person Centered Thinking, Documentation, ACTT training, Community Support Training and Community Support Team training. Deena holds a BA in Sociology with a concentration in Social Welfare from Winston Salem State.
